This cross and panagia set, worn by a Bishop during an orthodox mass, was commissioned by the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign in 2022 as a gift to Metropolitan Nicholas First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia on the occasion of his enthronement.

This icon depicts the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God of the Sign. The Kursk icon was the chosen subject of this commission as the original 13th century miraculous icon is the most important relic kept in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign in New York City’s Upper East Side.
